Party Pieces Party

Yesterday, I decided to take one of my old Simply Scrappin' and see what I could do with it. I started looking around some of my favorite blogs and found an idea I had to try... here's the orginal link.

I ended up getting:

  • one mini purse that is large enough to hold a few cards or even a birthday card and a small gift
  • 4 matching 6x6 scrap book pages
  • 30 4x4 cards.

I made myself some rules before I started:

  • I did not want to use anything for the cards or pages besides the Simply Scrapping kit. This means no stamping at all
  • I allowed my self to use ribbon and brads to make the purse.
  • I wanted to make the cards before I made the pages.... so the pages had to be made using left over items
  • And, no extra papers could be added

So, I made the purse, and cut all the paper into 8x4 pieces. Then I realized that I would not have any paper to make my scrapbook pages. Well, there went rule #4. I ended up swapping out the cut pieces of white paper for a full sheet of 12x12 Whisper White that I had here. I figured this was kind of keeping me to my orginal rules.

This is what I came up with. I am actually happy with it. And, eventhough it is using a retired kit, it can still be used with the Confetti Simply Scrappin' kit because the product is basically the same minus some color changes.

Enjoy the samples!

I am StReSsEd!

As many of you know, I have been in nursing school for the last year. I actually graduated on Valentines Day of this year. WooHoo for me! Since then I have been waiting for my paper work from the Board of Nursing telling me that I am able to take the state boards. Well, the paper work finally got here.

Now I have signed up to take my test and I am starting to get StReSsEd! It doesn't help that I was already feeling stressed over having to register for convention tomorrow morning and the fear that I wont get a spot that goes with that whole process. But, now I am even more freaked out!

My test date is on June 12th, 2008 at 2:45pm. I have to drive down to Ontario, Ca to take the test but thankfully my husband will be going with me. I actually asked him if he could take the day off of work to drive me down there so I can concentrate on being sick to my stomach instead of the traffic. (hee-hee)

I am so grateful to all my friends and family that have supported me up till now. I really don't think I could have made it through the last year and a half without all of you. And, I am soooo thankful to all my classmates who have agreed to be my study buddies 3 days a week until testing time!

So, once again, I am putting my SU! buisness on hold for the next month - no classes - while I study for my NCLEX. After June 12th I will post another set of classes to my blog and newsletter. After all, I can't be boring forever!!!!!

A Light unto My Path

I used the shaving cream technique with this card. I did this because I wanted a simple, soft pattern behind the lighthouse. I really thought that I solid colored image would be too distracting.

I really like lighthouses and when I first seen this in the Spring-Summer catalog I feel in love. I think this card came out great, and I can't wait to use it more often. I think it would even make a beautiful light switch cover....

Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads

Priceless In Color Card

This is a cute, simple card that would be a good card to show to a "newbie" stamper. Also, it shows the In Color series. Fast, Simple, Easy.... what could be easier?

I actually got this card through a swap that I participated in but I thought it would be a great idea to show off. I am defiantly going to be reproducing this card.....

Wild About You Layered Card

Ok! In case you haven't been able to tell, I am addicted to layered cards. Not just any layered card but multiple layered cards

This card has12 layers. Yes, you read that right. 12 layers. Count them, you will see.

I think this would make a great Valentines day card (if the colors where a little different) or even a kids birthday card.

I LOVE layers. I think multiple layers make any paper craft more interesting. This card uses 9 layers, one punch, two different types of ribbon and brads.
Even though this card uses two main colors, you could change the colors and stamped image to suit your needs. Have fun with it and see what you can do!

Wooven Ribbon Card

I LOVE this card, even though it contains no stamping at all. This card does take a little bit of time to complete, so make sure you have the time to put into it. I did find it easier to put together but attaching both ends of one of the groups of ribbon and then feeding the other set of ribbon through the attached sides.

It screams CONVENTION SWAP all over it!!!!!

July Calendar Page

I have been so busy lately and haven't been able to update this blog lately. I wanted to take a little bit of time today though to add a couple of pictures of recent calendar pages that I have worked on.

July's Calendar page took a little bit more time than June's Calendar page. But, I believe that this page is very pretty.
