My Junker Jane ornament

I decided to try my hand at Junker Jane. I wanted to do an ornament due to it being Christmas time. She was pretty easy to make, and I think she came out cute.

Another share...Salt Dough Ornaments

I totally forgot about Salt Dough until I see another post on Craftster.com this morning. The post had a link for another blog (yes, I guess I am not the only one who still blogs).

Here is the link: http://hollylynnclark.blogspot.com/2012/12/diy-salt-dough-ornament-gifts.html

This blog not only has a lot of great pictures of her salt dough ornaments it also has the
recipe that she uses to make these cuties.

I think this is next year Christmas gift :)

I think this would be fun to do with the kids. It seems easy (and just messy enough) to keep their interests. Plus, I have a billion cookie cutters that I can use.

Enjoy....and get crafting.

Cute Find....Idea!

I haven't posted in a couple days but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!

This morning I was on craftster.com and ran across this:

These are too stinkin' cute!

Here is the official link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=417802.0 Travel there to see the craftster's ingredients and any tips she may have posted.

I have so many old glass bulbs that are chipping and I think with a little cosmetic puff paint and then this idea on top (and bottom) I may be able to bring new life into old ornaments!

Happy Crafting!

Hoot, Hoot

Made my first owl today. This pattern came from bhg.com. I used scraps for the pupils, beak, and wings.

Leslie's Art and Sew: Who is Junker Jane?

I want to share this other blog with you today. I ran across the site through Crafster and fell in love with these dolls. I really am thinking of making some (yes, maybe out of felt!). And, if I am any good, maybe joining her swap! Enjoy!

Leslie's Art and Sew: Who is Junker Jane?:

Below is a picture of the Junker Jane dolls (this picture was taken from Leslie's Art and Sew blog). For more information please click on the link above or on the picture.

On Leslie's blog you will even see a tutorial for how she makes her style of Junker Jane dolls.

A Colorful Set of Penguins

Here is the menegery of felt penguin that I have done so far.

I am still planning on making two more: a red and pink one, and a purple and white one.

My next project will be owls. A simple yet hopefully cute owl. Not as many pieces as my first owl. (Plus now I have the blanket stitch down.)

My mom is coming up this weekend. We are going to be picking up more felt (yippie) and some material (have to make scrubs for work). As of right now I only have 15 different colors of (fabulous) felt in my possession.

Also my mom ordered me a few felt books off of eBay. As a child my mom use to also make felt creations and during that time she had a favorite designer. These books are all by this designer. I am looking forward to receiving this books and sneaking a peek in them. Of course I still have about 10 patterns of my own I want to make.

Anyway, here are the 5 penguin all together!

Felt Penquin is done!

This little guy only took a couple hours to finish....and I am sick, had to take a break to feed my kiddo's, and needed to get up and stretch (its an old thing).
I did not stuff him.
I used puff paint for his eyes.
Hope you like him. I actually like him better than the 1st ornament I made (the owl).

Starting penguin....

I will be starting this little guy tonight! When he is finished I will take a better picture to show him off.

Picture Patterns

I found a couple of really cute felt ornament projects on-line this morning. Unfortuantly they did not have patterns with them. That left me with only one option.....make my own.
Here is the pattern, pictures of completed projects will be posted as I finish them:

First Felt Creation

I have been addicted to felt lately. It first started with a pin on interest and grew into an obsession. So, yesterday I started my first felt project. A pink and red owl ornament. This was actually "commissioned" by a friend who's sons girlfriend loves owls. Her favorite colors are pink and purple. Now that I'm new to felt I'm limited on colors and no purple was available. If I would have had purple the red would be purple.
On my second ornament I will be using a felt pattern. This pattern is actually a scrapbook element from www.designsoncloud9.com. I think scrapbook designs maybe too involved for myself at this level.
Anyway, here is my first project:
